Indonesia's U-16 women's national team failed to win the 2026 Srikandi Merdeka Cup title after a 0-1 loss to Thailand in the final at Supersoccer Arena, Kudus, Central Java, on Sunday night WIB. Coach Timo Scheunemann still praised the Garuda Pertiwi's mentality, including Keysa Arabela Manisya and her teammates, whom he said were consistent throughout the tournament. Timo said the team's effort deserved credit because the players, aged 14 to 16, had to play five matches in 10 days. He also pointed to the decision to split the squad into two teams as part of player development, even though it reduced depth in each match. For Indonesia, the inaugural tournament ended without a title but also without injuries.
