Indonesia and 7 Muslim countries condemn Al Aqsa raid
The joint statement also said Israel has no sovereignty over Jerusalem or the holy sites in the city.
Indonesia, along with Mesir, Yordania, Pakistan, Qatar, Arab Saudi, Turki, and the Uni Emirat Arab, condemned the raid by Israeli settlers on the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem. In a joint statement posted by Kemlu RI, the eight foreign ministers denounced a mass incursion they said was led by Israeli far-right ministers, the raising of Israeli flags in the mosque courtyard, the erection of two tents by Israeli police, and restrictions on access to the Old City of Jerusalem and the places of worship inside it. They said the move violated international law, U.N. resolutions, and the historic status quo at the holy site. The statement also accused Israel, as the occupying power, of continuing efforts to alter the historical, legal and demographic character of East Jerusalem.
