House ethics panel probes abuse allegations against Rep. Max Miller

What's next: Miller faces a Wednesday deadline to stay in his reelection race as Republicans worry about losing an Ohio seat.

The House Ethics Committee has opened an investigation into Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio over allegations that he engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use. The move deepens pressure on the second-term congressman as he decides whether to remain in his 2026 reelection bid. Miller said earlier Tuesday that he had asked for an ethics review himself and wrote on X that he had “nothing to hide.” The case has also drawn in President Donald Trump, who advised Miller that his candidacy “doesn’t look good,” and Sen. Bernie Moreno, Miller’s former father-in-law, who said the allegations had devastated his family.
