Himi Persis holds 11th congress in Depok, eyes expansion
The Aug. 7-9 forum will also prepare new regional chapters to widen recruitment and preaching efforts.
Himpunan Mahasiswi Persatuan Islam held its 11th congress at the PPSDM Kemendikdasmen building in Depok on Aug. 7-9, 2026. The group's highest forum carried the theme “Himi Persis untuk Indonesia, Transformasi Gerakan dalam Membangun Peradaban” and was framed as setting the organization's direction after three decades. PP Himi Persis Chairwoman Gina Ainal Mardiah said the congress would serve as a space to evaluate, renew and strengthen the movement's direction amid social, technological and community change. In the coming period, Himi Persis will also strengthen its structure through the formation of new regional leaders in various areas. PP Persis Chairman Jeje Zaenudin said young Muslim women need to emerge as agents of change by offering solutions to social problems through a culture of learning, research, discussion and service.
