Hashim adds 20 more groups to FORMAS, total reaches 103

Hashim Djojohadikusumo inaugurated 20 new mass organizations that joined Forum Masyarakat Indonesia Emas (FORMAS) at Aula Universitas Podomoro, Jakarta, on Friday night, coinciding with the forum’s second anniversary. With the additions, FORMAS now has 103 member organizations, including Ikatan Persaudaraan Haji Indonesia. Hashim said the forum aims to strengthen the role of civil society in supporting and overseeing government programs. He also referred to the Makan Bergizi Gratis program, which he said arose from Prabowo Subianto’s concern for people who are not yet prosperous. FORMAS advisory board chairman Serian Wijatno and chairman Yohanes Handojo Budhisedjati said the consolidation would expand the role of mass organizations in development and oversight of strategic government policies.
