The couple are expected to live in a private residence near London and keep their status as non-working royals, with no return to official duties. Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are enrolled to begin school in Britain in September. Reports said King Charles III was informed of the plan on Aug. 16 and welcomed the chance to see more of the family. The move follows a July visit to Britain, where Charles saw his grandchildren for the first time since 2022, and comes after Harry's long-running concerns over UK security arrangements.
