Haaland, Cherki score 2 each as Man City beat Palace 4-1

Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park on Friday night, with Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki each scoring twice in the second Premier League match of the season. Haaland opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and City led 1-0 at halftime before breaking the game open after the break. Cherki struck in the 54th minute, Palace pulled one back two minutes later when a free kick came off the bar and went in off goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, then Cherki scored again in the 59th. Haaland added his second in the 85th minute to seal the win. The result lifted Enzo Maresca’s side to six points from two games, while Palace remained last after a second straight defeat.
