A Texas-linked oil venture with ties to President Donald Trump delayed plans to drill in Greenland after the island's government warned its partner over permit breaches. Greenland Energy Co. said it is now targeting winter 2027 for drilling in the Jameson Land Basin on Greenland's east coast. Its partner, London-listed 80 Mile, also confirmed the delay after talks with Greenlandic authorities. The warning centered on drilling equipment landed near Nerlerit Inaat Airport without approval from the mineral resources authority. The licenses predate Greenland's 2021 halt on new oil exploration permits, a move the government tied to the climate crisis.
