Government speeds post-disaster recovery in Solok Raya

Infrastructure spending in Kabupaten Solok has reached only 6.7 percent, while 259 families still need permanent housing.

The government is accelerating rehabilitation and reconstruction after the disaster in Kabupaten Solok and Kota Solok, West Sumatra, focusing on infrastructure, permanent housing, flood control and the recovery of farmland. A special evaluation by the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction on Aug. 13 highlighted slow budget absorption for infrastructure in Kabupaten Solok, which has reached only 6.7 percent of an allocation of more than Rp88 miliar because adjustments to unit prices in the RAB have not been completed. In the regency, TKD support was recorded at Rp144 miliar. The task force also highlighted the need to relocate 259 families whose homes were heavily damaged; the quota for huntap is only 60 units. In Kota Solok, the team inspected SDN 16 Tanah Garam, Box Culvert Simpang Gawan and sedimentation in Batang Lembang to map priority handling.
