GMF hands over modernized C-130H A-1319 to Kemhan
GMF says the overhaul, first of its kind outside Lockheed Martin facilities, can extend the aircraft's service life by 15-20 years.
PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk handed over the C-130H A-1319 aircraft to the Ministry of Defense in Tangerang, Banten, after completing a modernization program aimed at strengthening the readiness of the TNI Angkatan Udara transport fleet. GMF said A-1319 was the second aircraft completed after A-1315 and the first prototype to undergo a major modification outside Lockheed Martin facilities. The work included replacement of the center wing box, avionics upgrades and a structural integrity program. According to GMF, the modernization can extend the aircraft's operational life by 15 to 20 years. The project was part of a defense industry offset program, with technology transfer from Lockheed Martin and airworthiness certification referring to standards set by the Indonesia Defence Airworthiness Authority.
