GM posts $50 billion Q3 revenue, starts $20 billion buyback

What's new: GM beat third-quarter estimates but narrowed its 2026 EPS outlook, sending shares lower in premarket trading.

General Motors beat Wall Street’s third-quarter expectations, reported $50.02 billion in revenue and launched a new multiyear $20 billion stock buyback. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $3.70, above the $3.63 expected by analysts tracked by LSEG. GM narrowed its 2026 guidance to adjusted EBIT of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion and adjusted EPS of $12.75 to $13.75, while lifting its automotive free cash flow outlook to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion. Shares fell in premarket trading as the EPS range midpoint trailed analyst estimates. GM said commodity inflation would reach about $2 billion this year, while gross tariff costs should land at the low end of its $2.5 billion to $3.5 billion range.
