Gerindra denies special meeting to monitor Gibran's movements

The faction said internal instructions actually focused on tracking staple prices, food supplies and residents' purchasing power in constituencies.

The Gerindra Party faction in the House of Representatives has denied social media reports that faction chairman Budi Djiwandono led a special meeting to ask members to monitor the movements of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Gerindra faction secretary Bambang Haryadi said he always attends faction meetings and that there was no order or discussion on the matter. Bambang said the correct guidance to Gerindra lawmakers was to monitor economic conditions in their constituencies, including food availability and staple prices, and to ensure government programs are reaching the public. He also stressed that Gerindra continues to support the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran administration and described the issue as divisive gossip.
