Galeri Nasional prepares Nasirun exhibition before renovation
The show will also mark 40 days since the veteran artist’s death, according to the Ministry of Culture.
The Ministry of Culture is preparing a special exhibition of works by Indonesian art master Nasirun at Galeri Nasional Indonesia. The exhibition is intended as a tribute to his contribution to the development of national art and will be among the final shows at Galeri Nasional before the building enters renovation. The plan was conveyed by Culture Minister Fadli Zon while attending a family condolence gathering for Nasirun in Yogyakarta. According to the ministry, the exhibition will be held to mark 40 days since Nasirun's death. His widow, Supartilah, thanked the government for its attention and said she hoped Nasirun's dedication would continue to inspire young people to love the nation's culture.
