Jason Arday, a former University of Cambridge professor who resigned last week amid plagiarism allegations and intense public scrutiny, was found dead Aug. 14 in south London. He was 41. The Metropolitan Police said a 41-year-old man was found unresponsive at a property in Battersea and pronounced dead at the scene. Officers said the death is being treated as unexpected but is not believed to be suspicious. Cambridge Vice-Chancellor Deborah Prentice confirmed Arday’s death and said the university was “desperately saddened.” Arday stepped down Aug. 5 from his professorship and fellowship at Jesus College after Cambridge and the college opened inquiries into allegations tied to his academic work and claims about his personal achievements.
