Fire spreads in Sukabumi adat village, 3 children died a day earlier
The blaze in Kasepuhan Ciptamulya is still burning, while authorities have not yet recorded the cause or the number of homes affected.
A major fire swept through the Kasepuhan Ciptamulya settlement in Sirnaresmi village, Cisolok district, Sukabumi regency, on Saturday (25/7), and by the latest report the flames were still spreading through a row of stilt houses made of wood and thatched with ijuk. Cisolok district head Okih Pazri Assidiq confirmed that firefighters and joint response teams had been deployed to the site, but there were no official data yet on the number of homes affected, casualties or losses. One day earlier, another fire in Sukabumi killed three siblings identified as AMS (10), SAS (5) and SAQ (4) in Babakan Bandung hamlet, Wangunreja village, Nyalindung district. Police suspect the fire started from a candle lit during a power outage, then grew as the bamboo-walled stilt house burned.
