Fire at PO Sinar Jaya depot in Bekasi destroys 50 buses
Nine fire trucks were deployed to the 800-square-meter site. No casualties were reported as police investigate the fire's origin.
A fire broke out at the PO Sinar Jaya depot on Jalan Jarakosta, Desa Sukadanau, Cikarang Barat, Kabupaten Bekasi, in the early hours of Tuesday (18/8), destroying 50 buses that were no longer in operation. The Kabupaten Bekasi Fire and Rescue Service received the report at 01.45 WIB and sent crews that arrived at about 02.00 WIB. Agency head Adeng Hudaya said nine trucks from several sectors were deployed to extinguish the blaze at the 800-square-meter depot. The number of vehicles at the site caused the flames to spread quickly and briefly threatened other parked buses. After the fire was put out, firefighters continued cooling operations. No fatalities or estimate of material losses have been reported. Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
