Fajar/Fikri keep Indonesia's title hopes alive in China Open

Indonesia is left with one remaining representative, who will face top seeds Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang tomorrow.

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri became Indonesia's only representatives in the China Open 2026 semifinals after beating Kang Min Hyuk/Ki Dong Ju 21-15, 21-13 in the quarterfinals at Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, Friday (24/7). The result came after Jonatan Christie lost 14-21, 17-21 to Victor Lai and Putri Kusuma Wardani was eliminated after going down 21-16, 11-21, 9-21 to Tomoka Miyazaki. Women's doubles pair Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum also exited after a 18-21, 18-21 loss to Li Yi Jing/Luo Xu Min. In Saturday's (25/7) semifinals, Fajar/Fikri will face top-seeded China pair Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang in an effort to keep Indonesia's title hopes alive at the BWF Super 1000 tournament with total prize money of 2 million dollars.
