Extortion video drags in Bekasi Transportation Agency officer
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi asked Bekasi’s mayor to fire the suspect, while the allegedly extorted money was returned to the truck driver.
A video showing a Bekasi City Transportation Agency officer allegedly collecting Rp1,7 juta from a truck driver has circulated on social media. In the recording, seen on Saturday (1/8), the person filming approaches several officers in a room and asks the driver to identify the man accused of taking money and extorting him. The driver then points to one of the officers at the scene. A stack of cash believed to be the result of the illegal collection is visible in the video and was later returned to the driver. Responding to the case, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said he had coordinated with Bekasi Mayor and asked that the perpetrator be dishonorably dismissed, although the person’s employment status has not yet been confirmed.
