Erick considers running again in the 2027 PSSI election
The 2026 PSSI Congress moved the vote from May to July 2027 to fit provincial association schedules and the end of the league season.
PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir is considering another run in the 2027 PSSI chairman election but has not made a decision. After the 2026 PSSI Ordinary Congress in Jakarta on Monday (3/8), Erick said he would first discuss the matter with the government, FIFA and Indonesian football stakeholders before deciding his next step. His current term runs through the 2023-2027 period after he was elected at the PSSI Extraordinary Congress on 16 February 2023 with 64 votes, beating LaNyalla Mattalitti, who received 22 votes. At the same congress, participants also agreed to shift the election from May to July 2027. The change is intended to make room for provincial PSSI elections in October-November this year and the end of the national league competition in June 2027.
