Equatorial Guinea government quit after hitting 10% of targets

Equatorial Guinea's government resigned after achieving only about 10% of its objectives, Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue said. Prime Minister Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, who was appointed in 2024, submitted the collective resignation of ministers in the oil-producing Central African nation. The ruling Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea said President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo was dissatisfied with the cabinet's management, citing corruption, misuse of state resources, delayed development projects and a failure to diversify the economy, especially in agriculture. A new government is expected to be formed. Obiang has ruled since 1979, and the country remains heavily dependent on oil and gas revenues.
