France surged back after the break through two goals from Kylian Mbappe and one from Bradley Barcola to cut the deficit to 4-3. Saka converted a late penalty for his third, Ousmane Dembele answered in stoppage time, and substitute Jude Bellingham sealed the result moments later. The result gave England its highest World Cup finish since 1966 and closed Didier Deschamps’ 14-year run as France coach.
