Education budget rises to Rp820.8 trillion in 2027, MBG Rp240.2 T
MBG funding falls from Rp268 trillion in 2026 as the recipient target is cut to 72.1 million people.
The government has allocated Rp820.8 trillion for education in the 2027 draft state budget, up nearly 14 percent from Rp720.8 trillion in 2026. Of the total, the Makan Bergizi Gratis program through Badan Gizi Nasional gets Rp240.2 trillion. Although it remains a priority, the MBG allocation falls from Rp268 trillion in 2026, while the beneficiary target drops from 82.9 million to 72.1 million students, college students, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and toddlers. In the 2027 draft, Kemendikdasmen gets Rp61.1 trillion and Kemendiktisaintek Rp65.1 trillion. The government is also setting aside funds for Program Indonesia Pintar, KIP Kuliah, BOS, BOP PAUD, teacher professional allowances, renovation of 12,215 schools and madrasah, construction of seven Sekolah Unggul Garuda, and 100 new Sekolah Rakyat.
