Dukcapil restores 3,055 quake victim records in 7 regencies
The documents let evacuees resume access to aid, health care and family records while local offices remain down.
Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration restored 3,055 population documents for residents affected by the Nusa Tenggara Timur earthquake through Tuesday, August 25, at 22.30 WITA. The mobile service operated in seven regencies: Manggarai Timur, Nagekeo, Manggarai, Ende, Ngada, Sikka and Manggarai Barat. The magnitude 7.7 quake centered in Nagekeo Regency killed more than 100 people, injured 1,603 and forced more than 180,000 residents to evacuate. In Talibura District, Sikka, the Dukcapil team and local agency issued 1,634 documents in two days in Nangahale and Kringa villages. The restored documents included KTP-el, kartu keluarga, birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates and WNI transfer letters.
