Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, shouted at UN special envoy Vanessa Frazier during a UN General Assembly debate on sexual violence in conflict on Friday (19/6). The confrontation erupted when Frazier interrupted to raise a point of order after Danon attacked UN Secretary-General's Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten. Danon then yelled at Frazier to be quiet and called the UN report shameful. At the forum marking the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, Danon also demanded that Patten resign over a 2025 report documenting a pattern of sexual violence against Palestinians held in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
