Russian drone hits apartment building in Romania, injuring two

A drone linked to Russia's attacks on Ukraine hit the roof of an apartment building in Galati, Romania, early Friday, injuring two people and starting a fire. Romania's defense ministry said the drone entered its airspace and was tracked by radar, prompting the deployment of two F-16 fighter jets. President Nicusor Dan called it the most serious incident affecting Romania's national territory since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Bucharest later summoned the Russian ambassador. NATO condemned Moscow's actions as reckless behavior, while Ursula von der Leyen said Russia's war of aggression had once again crossed a line. Vladimir Putin said it was too early to determine the drone's origin before an inspection was completed.
