DPR backs pilot for placing ASN near home and family
BKN said 1,285 CPNS 2024 participants withdrew over distant postings, raising the stakes for a wider policy shift.
DPR supports the pilot placement of aparatur sipil negara closer to their home areas and families, a program now being tested by Badan Kepegawaian Negara. Commission II member Muhammad Khozin said the step could ease living costs and reduce resignations tied to far-flung assignments, but implementation must still follow Law No. 20 of 2023 on ASN, which requires readiness to serve anywhere in Indonesia. BKN recorded 1,285 CPNS 2024 participants withdrawing because of placement issues. BKN chief Zudan Arif Fakrulloh is testing the scheme first for BKN employees at the central office, regional offices, and technical units. In DPR, Netty Prasetiyani said proximity to family could also support ASN mental health and improve productivity and public service quality.
