DPR approves Rp4 trillion advance for 2027 Hajj services
Payments to Saudi must start July 15 to secure Indonesia’s tent sites and prevent its quota from being reassigned.
Commission VIII of the DPR approved the transfer of a Rp4,007 trillion advance for the organization of the 2027 Hajj in a meeting with Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf and the Hajj Financial Management Agency, Tuesday (14/7). The funds are equal to 858.74 million Saudi riyals and will cover tent costs, basic service packages and visas. According to Irfan, the payment must be processed quickly because Saudi Arabia will open the confirmation period for tent use from 15 July to 13 August 2026. The advance will be used to retain the tent locations used by Indonesian pilgrims this year, with a chance to secure better locations if other countries do not confirm their slots. Commission VIII also asked the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to promptly complete the transfer request documents and details of the fund usage.
