DKI targets clearing Waduk Pluit Rusun garbage pile in 10 days

Delays in truck queues to TPST Bantargebang caused the buildup, prompting DKI to deploy 1 excavator, 3 trucks and 10 workers.

The DKI Jakarta provincial government is targeting completion of the garbage buildup at Rusun Waduk Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, within 8 to 10 days. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the waste piled up because of delays in the hauling queue from the temporary collection site to TPST Bantargebang. To speed cleanup, the local government deployed one heavy-duty machine, three hauling trucks and 10 personnel on the ground, with additional vehicles and workers to be prepared in the next one to two days. Ardiyanto, head of the Waste and B3 Waste Management Section at the North Jakarta Environment Agency, estimated the response would require about 30 hauling trips. Pramono also called for an evaluation of waste management at Rusun Waduk Pluit so similar buildup does not happen again.
