DKI speeds repairs to Kota Bambu footbridge for access
The crossing serves access to RS Harapan Kita and RS Dharmais, while a viral video highlighted the lack of an elevator.
The DKI Jakarta provincial government is accelerating repairs to the Kota Bambu pedestrian bridge in West Jakarta after complaints that access there is difficult for people with disabilities and the elderly. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Bina Marga Agency had been asked to fix the facility immediately because it serves as a walkway to several hospitals. Attention increased after a video on social media showed the bridge was not yet equipped with an elevator. The condition was seen as making it difficult for wheelchair users, elderly people and patients with limited mobility. The Kota Bambu bridge is near national referral hospitals, including RS Harapan Kita and RS Dharmais. The provincial government has not detailed what repairs will be made to the bridge.
