DKI Reviews Proposal for Transjakarta Fare at Rp5,000, Mikrotrans Rp2,000
Pramono Anung said a decision on Transjabodetabek services, especially airport routes, will be taken soon.
The DKI Jakarta provincial government has begun reviewing a proposal from the Jakarta City Transportation Council to raise public transit fares. The proposal includes increasing Transjakarta city fares to Rp5,000, Transjabodetabek fares to Rp10,000, ending free rides on Mikrotrans or JakLingko and charging Rp2,000, and offering a Transjakarta subscription package at Rp200.000 per month. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the provincial government will soon follow up on the proposal submitted by DTKJ Chairman Sugihardjo. He highlighted the need for a prompt decision on Transjabodetabek services, especially routes to the airport. In the DKI Jakarta regional legislature, M Taufik Zoelkifli called for the scheme to be re-examined so it would not burden informal workers and users who do not regularly use public transportation.
