DKI adds CCTV at Bundaran HI pelican crossing
The new speakers will be linked to the NOC so officers can warn drivers and pedestrians directly.
The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency will add CCTV cameras and speakers at pelican crossings, especially after an incident in which a vehicle was alleged to have run a red light at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7). The devices will be linked to the Network Operation Center (NOC) so officers can issue warnings and provide direct guidance to road users. Dishub DKI and Polda Metro Jaya will also continue monitoring through field personnel and the cameras already in place. According to DKI Dishub chief Budi Awaluddin, a pelican crossing is a safety facility that requires vehicles to stop at a red light and gives priority to pedestrians. Bundaran HI is considered crucial because it is connected to Bundaran HI MRT Station and TransJakarta stops and sits in an area of offices and shopping centers.
