DJP Sumbar-Jambi blocks 571 accounts of Rp70.2 billion tax debtors

Fifty taxpayers could face balance seizures, asset auctions, overseas travel bans and detention if the arrears remain unpaid.

The Sumatera Barat and Jambi regional office of the Directorate General of Taxes blocked 571 accounts belonging to 50 delinquent taxpayers with total arrears of Rp70.2 billion. The action on 3-4 June 2026 came after persuasive steps, from notices and Surat Teguran to Surat Paksa, failed to prompt payment. Head of the DJP Sumbar and Jambi office Tarmizi said the account blocks are the first stage of forced collection, involving all state tax bailiffs in the region, together with 21 financial services institutions and banks. If the debt remains unpaid, DJP can escalate to seizing account balances and transferring funds to the state treasury, followed by asset auctions, overseas travel bans and detention.
