Student protest in Jakarta shifts from Bundaran HI to Patung Kuda
Police have prepared 6,088 personnel and situational traffic measures along the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor to Monas.
A student protest in Jakarta on Friday (12/6) was moved from its original plan at Bundaran HI to the Patung Kuda area, or in front of the DPR/MPR building. The Polda Metro Jaya said it coordinated through the Intelligence Directorate to shift the crowd assembly point, while the DKI Transportation Agency asked residents to avoid Bundaran HI, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, MH Thamrin, Kebon Sirih, Medan Merdeka Selatan, and the UNJ Rawamangun area. Police prepared 6,088 joint personnel, while the Transportation Agency deployed 300 personnel. Students from BEM UI and other campuses still carried five demands, including ending APBN waste, lowering staple goods and fuel prices, and stopping the MBG program and the construction of Koperasi Desa Merah Putih.
