Daveigh Chase, the former child actor known for playing Samara in “The Ring” and voicing Lilo in Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch,” has died at 35. Her manager, John Ryan Jr., told BBC News that Chase died in a Los Angeles hospital from sepsis after meningitis. Fox News, citing her father John Schwallier, reported complications from bacterial meningitis, a blood infection and severe malnutrition. Chase also voiced Chihiro in the English version of “Spirited Away” and appeared in “Donnie Darko,” “Big Love,” “Charmed” and “ER.” She began acting as a child in Las Vegas and later stepped back from full-time acting in 2015, according to her manager.
