Dasco urges Commission III to monitor Prabowo wiretap case

The number of suspects has risen to four after Bareskrim named former Police IT chief Slamet Uliandi.

Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad asked Commission III to monitor regularly the handling of alleged illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto and a number of political figures. Dasco said the House is leaving the legal process to police, while talks on a wiretapping bill cannot yet be confirmed because the House is still in recess. Police disclosed the case on 3 November in Jakarta. So far, four Polri officers have been named suspects: Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Ahrie Sonta Nasution, Eko Hadi Santoso, and Slamet Uliandi. According to a statement from the Palace delivered by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Prabowo expressed concern over the alleged wiretapping involving senior Polri officials.
