Darline Graham enters Aug. 11 GOP primary for South Carolina Senate seat

Sen. Darline Graham will run for a full term in South Carolina, moving from temporary appointee to candidate in the fast-moving Republican contest for the seat held by her late brother, Lindsey Graham. Gov. Henry McMaster swore her in last week to serve the remainder of the term, which ends in January. The special GOP primary is set for Aug. 11, and the filing window opens Tuesday. President Donald Trump has backed her bid after urging McMaster to appoint her. The field is already crowded: Rep. Russell Fry said Monday he will enter, and Rep. Ralph Norman has also moved toward a run. Rep. Nancy Mace said she would not run.
