Chelsea sign Jordan Henderson, 36, on 2-year free transfer

Chelsea signed midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal after Brentford ended his contract, adding the 36-year-old England international on a free transfer. Henderson joins Xabi Alonso's squad after making 32 Premier League appearances for Brentford last season, or 34 in all competitions, depending on the tally used by different outlets. The former Liverpool captain spent 12 seasons at Anfield, where he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. He later had spells with Al-Ettifaq and Ajax before returning to England. Henderson is part of Chelsea's push to add experience ahead of the new season.
