Central Java collects 31,032 liters of waste oil, wins MURI
The 35-regency and city drive generated about Rp217,23 million in economic value and will expand through BioDrop machines.
The Central Java provincial government collected 31,032.44 liters of used cooking oil from 60,680 civil servants and employees of regional-owned enterprises, then received a MURI record for the largest collection from ASN. The certificate was handed over by Ari Andriani of MURI to Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen in Semarang, during a 2026 coordination meeting of the district and city Posyandu steering team across Central Java. The campaign involved 35 regencies and cities and, according to Republika, generated an economic value of about Rp217,23 million. Central Java Posyandu chair Nawal Arafah Yasin said the program will be expanded through BioDrop used-oil ATM machines so residents can deposit waste oil and receive rupiah value in their bank accounts. The provincial government said the program reduces pollution and prevents the reuse of used oil.
