Celtic rout Kilmarnock 5-1 as Hogh hits first hat trick

What's new: The $11 million summer signing scored three times within 35 minutes and put Premiership defenses on notice.

Kasper Hogh scored his first Celtic goals and completed a first-half hat trick as the Scottish champions beat Kilmarnock 5-1 at Rugby Park. The Danish forward opened the scoring after 64 seconds, added a second in the 33rd minute and headed in his third two minutes later. Benjamin Nygren made it 4-0 early in the second half after a misplaced pass from Kilmarnock goalkeeper Max Stryjek, before Michael Schjonning-Larsen pulled one back. Celtic restored their four-goal margin later in the match. The win left Celtic on six points from two Scottish Premiership games as Hogh, a reported 11 million-pound signing from Bodo/Glimt in July, delivered an immediate statement after drawing criticism in the opener against Dundee.
