Car burns after fueling in Tanjung Barat, losses hit Rp35 juta
Investigators suspect a short circuit sparked the blaze after refueling; no one was injured.
A car burned after refueling on Jalan Raya Tanjung Barat 6, RT 03/RW 04, Kelurahan Tanjung Barat, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Sunday at about 10.00 WIB. Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Subagency Asril Rizal said the fire was suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit, which produced smoke and then flames after the fuel fill-up. Residents then contacted the nearest fire post. Firefighters began extinguishing the blaze at 10.12 WIB with two vehicles and eight personnel. The operation ended at 10.35 WIB. No one was hurt in the incident, but losses were estimated at Rp35 juta.
