Canada removed seafood and fish products from its planned countertariffs on US imports, revising a package that covers about $20 billion in American goods. The change came one day after Ottawa set out the retaliation and followed feedback from affected industries, the Department of Finance said Wednesday. Canada is responding after Washington imposed new 50% tariffs on Canadian imports on Saturday. Ottawa said it adjusted the list to limit economic harm while continuing to target sectors affected by US measures. The broader countertariffs remain in place and are scheduled to take effect Sept. 8.
