Narcotics fugitive killed in Kotabumi shootout, 3 police hurt
Police seized a homemade revolver and two 9 mm rounds, and are probing PHP's possible link to an illegal firearms network.
A fugitive in a narcotics case identified as PHP, 30, died after a shootout with police in Muara Jaya, Kotabumi Udik, Kotabumi, North Lampung, on Tuesday at about 02:45 WIB. In the incident, three police officers were injured: AA in the right leg, AAC in the temple, and BA in the abdomen. BA was later referred from Handayani Hospital Kotabumi to Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, Bandarlampung. According to Polda Lampung, officers moved in after receiving information about alleged misuse of a firearm and swept the area, which was then hosting a music event. When they moved to secure the scene, PHP allegedly fired at the officers. Police seized one homemade revolver, two 9 mm rounds, and three shell casings. PHP was listed as a wanted suspect by the Narcotics Unit of Polres Lampung Utara.
