What's new: Fernandes became Manchester United's first men's winner since Wayne Rooney, while Shaw claimed her second PFA honor in three seasons.
Bruno Fernandes and Khadija Shaw won the Professional Footballers' Association men's and women's player of the year awards after standout 2025-26 seasons. Fernandes, Manchester United's captain, set a Premier League record with 21 assists and added nine league goals as United finished third and returned to the Champions League. He is the club's first winner since Wayne Rooney in 2009-10 and only the second Portuguese player to take the prize after Cristiano Ronaldo. Shaw, a Manchester City forward, scored 21 goals in 22 Women's Super League appearances, secured a third straight Golden Boot and helped City win the title. Manchester City's Nico O'Reilly and Arsenal's Olivia Smith were named the men's and women's young players of the year.
