Brown tap water hit 3 Bedok Reservoir flats as PUB probes cause
What's new: Tests found no abnormality in PUB water mains, and the discoloration cleared after internal service pipes were flushed.
PUB is investigating why brown tap water affected several units at Block 611 Bedok Reservoir Road in Singapore, after residents reported murky water from taps and toilets between June 12 and June 16. The national water agency said it was alerted on June 16 and carried out a joint inspection with Aljunied-Hougang Town Council that evening. Workers flushed one resident's unit and two other affected flats on the same level, while the town council flushed the block's internal water service pipes. PUB said samples from its water mains showed no abnormality and the water cleared after the internal pipes were flushed. Residents reported sediment and a metallic smell, and one said neighbors bought bottled water for cooking and washing.
