BRI supports dried fish business in Sorong through Klasterku Hidupku

Business owners at Jembatan Puri also gained financing, branding and packaging training, marketing support, and access to MSME fairs.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is assisting dried fish business owners in Sorong City, Southwest Papua, through the Klasterku Hidupku program. One participant, Nursia, started her business in 2017 and initially faced capital needs of around Rp10 juta to Rp15 juta to buy fish raw materials. After receiving financing from BRI, she and other traders in the Jembatan Puri area formed the BRI Penjual Ikan Jembatan Puri Sorong cluster. Through the cluster, members exchange information, discuss business constraints, and seek solutions together. They also receive training on brand strengthening, product packaging, marketing, and opportunities to take part in BRI MSME exhibitions. Nursia said guidance from Mantri BRI also helped her understand administrative requirements and begin marketing products online through social media.
