Brazil routs Scotland 3-0 to clinch Group C in Miami

Vinicius Junior scored twice and Neymar came on in the 76th minute. Brazil next face the Group F runner-up in Houston.

Brazil beat Scotland 3-0 in their final Group C match at the 2026 World Cup in Miami on Thursday WIB, securing a place in the round of 32 as group winners. Vinicius Junior scored in the seventh minute and in first-half stoppage time, while Matheus Cunha added a third in the 60th minute. Carlo Ancelotti's side struck early after Rayan won the ball from Scotland's back line and set up Vinicius for an empty-net finish. Brazil thought it had scored again midway through the first half, but VAR disallowed the goal for a foul in the buildup. Scotland threatened through Scott McTominay, but Alisson Becker stopped the chance. Neymar Jr then made his first appearance at the 2026 World Cup when he came on as a substitute in the 76th minute. The loss left Scotland third with three points and still waiting on other results to learn its chances of advancing.
