The blast near the Litani River also wounded seven soldiers, including a 36th Division officer and a reserve battalion commander.

A bomb exploded near an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) command post in southern Lebanon, killing one Israeli soldier and wounding seven others. Israeli media outlet KAN, as quoted by Anadolu Agency, reported that the incident occurred around 17.00 on Wednesday (17/6) as personnel from the Givati Brigade were walking near the forward command post of the deputy commander of the 36th Division in the Litani River area. According to the Israeli military, an “enemy device” detonated near the troops. Among the wounded were the deputy commander of the 36th Division, who holds the rank of colonel, and the commander of the 556th Reserve Brigade battalion, who holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. The incident came as pressure to maintain the ceasefire on the Lebanon front intensified amid a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
