BNPP reviews 2 sites for Seimanggaris border post on RI-Malaysia border
A shared crossing point with Malaysia still needs to be agreed on before readiness criteria for the project can be completed.
BNPP RI on 21 July 2026 reviewed two alternative sites for the construction of Pos Lintas Batas Negara (PLBN) Seimanggaris in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan. BNPP Deputy for Border Area Management Nurdin said the final site must be technically and strategically suitable and connected to an entry-exit point on the Malaysia side. Setting the shared crossing point between the two countries is the main readiness criteria before construction can proceed. BNPP is also pushing for the project to be discussed on the Sosek Malindo agenda. PLBN Seimanggaris is projected to become an official Indonesia-Malaysia crossing gate and open an economic corridor in Kaltara linked to the BIMP-EAGA region.
