BNI plants 258,000 mangrove seedlings in 5 coastal areas
The eight-year program is also credited with supporting ecotourism and processed products, with Banyuwangi's public satisfaction index at 84.09 percent.
BNI said it has planted 258,000 mangrove seedlings over the past eight years in five coastal areas: Mempawah, Kebumen, Kepulauan Seribu, Banyuwangi, and Pamekasan. The TJSL BNI Berbagi program was carried out to coincide with World Mangrove Day on July 26 as part of the company's ESG agenda. According to BNI, mangrove rehabilitation is aimed not only at restoring coastal ecosystems but also at supporting local incomes through nurseries, planting, ecotourism, and mangrove-based processed products. An evaluation of the Mangrove Forest Regeneration Program in Banyuwangi recorded an Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat of 84.09 percent. BNI also linked the program to the Nature-based Solutions approach and the transformation of BUMN under Danantara Indonesia.
