BMKG forecast that weather across most of Indonesia this weekend will be dominated by cloudy to very cloudy conditions, with light rain in a number of cities. On Friday, light rain is expected in Medan, Jambi, Bengkulu, Tanjung Selor, Mamuju, Palu, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke, while Nabire may see moderate rain. By Sunday, light rain is forecast in Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, Bandung, Tanjung Selor, Palu, Mamuju, and Jayawijaya, while Padang may experience thunderstorms. BMKG also warned of smoke or fog in Pekanbaru, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, and Mataram, as well as hazy air in Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Manokwari, and Nabire. The conditions were driven by convergence and confluence in several parts of Indonesia.
